Nothin' But Butter

Nothin' But Butter

One of my friends, Jincy, hosted a charcuterie board party where everyone had a different theme on what they needed to bring.  There were Mediterranean boards, sushi boards, dessert boards, and then as for me, I was assigned a butter board.

Now, if you have ever wondered to yourself, "how can I eat 5,000 calories in one sitting?" then the butter board is the board for you!  The best part of the butter board is that there is almost nothing that doesn't go with butter.  Go ahead, try to think of something.  Everything is better with butter.

Here's how I did it, and hoping you try it and make it work for you!

Ingredients

One metric ton of butter sticks

Garnishes, sauces, seasonings to your taste

Chunks of bread to dip in the butter

First, soften the butter to room temperature.  Or if you have poor planning skills like I can from time to time, soften those suckers in the microwave.

Whip the butter with some beaters until softened and creamy.  Take a small spoon and using the back of it, make little paint strokes on your charcuterie board.

Some of the batches, I did mix in other ingredients, like salt and garlic and herbs.

I had a spicy section which had hatch chiles mixes into the butter, and then hot honey drizzled over it.  The sweet section had a couple of jams drizzled on the top of it.  The herby section had garlic and basil mixed into it with various salts poured onto it.  And another savory section had some vinegar drizzle and oil over the top.  Delish!

Wanna be extra?  Make a few butter candles.  Put a wick in a paper cup and pour in melted butter.  Refrigerate and then rip the cup off.  I put mine in as the centerpiece, and they made an ungodly mess when they were done melting.  But to me, that just means that my friends didn't scoop up the melted butter fast enough.  Amateurs!
